Empowering Women: A Menstrual Health and Hygiene Camp in Our Community
In a powerful initiative to promote women's health and well-being, Hope On Foundation today (27 January 2024) organised a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Awareness Camp, through their ongoing "Boond Pe Baat" campaign. More than 200 women and adolescent girls in one of the slums of Delhi being part of the campaign.
The camp was an inclusive platform where open discussions took place, covering various aspects of menstruation, including periods, debunking myths, and addressing menopause. Practical demonstrations on how to use pads and cup pads were provided, fostering a supportive environment for learning and sharing by the specialist. The discussions held during the camp played a pivotal role in raising awareness about the pros and cons of menstruation, breaking age-old taboos, and fostering a sense of empowerment among the women in our community. The initiative aims not only to provide practical solutions but also to create a supportive community that openly discusses and addresses women's health issues.
Our ongoing "Boond Pe Baat" campaign continues to make a positive impact by providing a platform for dialogue, education, and community support. We believe that informed and empowered women contribute significantly to the overall well-being of our community.
As a part of our commitment to community welfare, cup pads were distributed to the women, ensuring access to sustainable and hygienic menstrual products. Additionally, we extended our support by distributing dry ration kits to address essential needs, along with providing snacks for immediate consumption.
