Awareness Programme “Menstrual Hygiene” | 4th Sep'2020

Hope On Foundation organized an Awareness Programme on Menstrual Hygiene and Health on 4th September 2020 at Dayal Singh Camp, Sriniwaspuri, New Delhi.

HOF is thankful to the "NFC police station" for standing beside us and appreciated our efforts.

Special thanks to our guest speaker "Ms. Kiran Rao", from Love Matters.

We encouraged the 200+ women dwellers by distributing sanitary hamper and information pamphlets. We distributed information pamphlets in the slum as well.

Every year the world comes together on May 28 to recognize Menstrual Hygiene Day, but still, it remains an unspeakable subject in some parts of our country. Most women are aware that menstruation is a normal process, but the topic is still not openly discussed in the family, community, or society.

Lack of awareness and sanitation facilities (such as hygienic toilets equipped with water and handwashing facilities) is an everlasting problem. It is the persisting stigma and disgrace attached to the subject that makes practicing good menstrual hygiene increasingly challenging for the gender.

Hope On Foundation (HOF) takes the responsibility to change this backward mindset of the society as well as to break the ice by bridging the gap of knowledge through awareness. Our awareness activity highlights the importance of good menstrual hygienic practices such as the use of sanitary napkins; washing and cleaning; napkins dispose and precautions that should be taken during the periods with eating habits that enable healthy reproductive life in the future.
